KARELIAN BEAR DOG PUPPY PURCHASE INFORMATION If you appear to be a good match for a Karelian then we will accept a deposit for a current or upcoming litter. We do not match people with their prospective pups until the pups are about 6 weeks of age. We generally cannot determine the basic personality traits of each puppy until at least 6 weeks of age. We will recommend to you which pups will fit your needs the best and also advise you against certain pups depending on yours and the pups needs. Not all people will be able to properly care for a Karelian. Please take the time to research the breed thoroughly prior to seriously thinking about adopting one. Our links page has several informative sites. We respectfully request that you contact us if you are ever unable to keep a pup that you have adopted from us please let us know so we can potentially help you find an appropriate new home for your KBD. Basic Purchase Price: The basic purchase price of a pet quality Karelian puppy is $800 US. This price will include current shots, de-wormer and of course a healthy puppy. UKCI registration paperwork will be provided at the time the new owner sends us proof of spay/neuter. The health of your new Karelian Bear Dog puppy will be guaranteed for up to two weeks after purchase. (Enough time for you to have your new addition seen by your own trusted vet). Shipping into Canada: If you live in Canada we will happily work with you. You can choose to come to our house that is located about 30 minutes south of the Canadian US border and pick up your pup or we can ship your pup via the airlines out of Castlegar BC to almost anywhere in Canada. (We can not SHIP pups via airlines in Canada between about November and April 1st each year due to cold weather.) If you come to our house from Canada you can expect to pay a tax at the border when you go back into Canada. If we need to ship your pup there will be a fee for a tax at the border along with a health certificate fee. We request that all checks coming from Canada be made out in US funds. This can be done by going to the bank and having a check issued in US funds. PayPal (on-line payment) is also easily converted into US funds. What if I want to possibly breed my puppy someday?: If you are wanting to purchase a puppy to potentially breed then the price will be $1200. If you are considering breeding expect to have many questions asked of you. Also, be fully prepared to wait a while for a good pup. What if I want two pups?: It is VERY rare that we will allow an individual to adopt two KBD pups at the same time. Once in a while there will be two people who live close together who both want pups. In that case we can ship the pups at the same time which saves money on shipping costs. We STRONGLY encourage people to properly train their first pup and then at a later point come back for their second one. We always give a $100 discount on a second pup since we have worked with you in the past which usually cuts down on administrative time that we spend with your family. Additional costs if needed or desired: Airline ticket - Price varies. We would be happy to determine the cost at your request. We ship to US and Canadian destinations. (At age 8 weeks most tickets cost between $170 and $310 depending on the destination of the pup. Canadian airlines are usually around $170.) Crate - Usually about $45 but could go a little higher or lower depending on the age and size of your pup. (Only needed if the puppy will be shipped). Vet check - If your puppy will be taking an airline flight then the law states that they must have a health check completed by a veterinarian fairly close to the anticipated flight date. The cost is $45. (We will have your bear dog puppy examined by a vet at your request even if an airline flight is not in your puppy's future). Rabies - If your puppy is in need of a rabies shot for shipping/transportation purposes then the cost is $20. The rabies shot is only given after 12 weeks of age. Photocopy of both parents pedigree - Feel free to copy off your pups pedigree from our web-site.
Reserving a future Bear Dog puppy: A $100 nonrefundable deposit will reserve a puppy from a future or current litter. We only take a couple of deposits each litter before the pups are born. The rest of the deposits will not be taken until the puppies have started to display their primary personality characteristics (about 6 weeks of age) so we can help you determine which puppy should fit into your family as the Karelian has a wide range of personality traits that are unique to each pup. (We want all of our pups to be placed into homes that will meet their needs as well as yours).
Payment options: We gladly accept personal checks, cashier's checks, money orders and cash. We also accept PayPal (credit card) for faster payment. If you decide to pay by PayPal you will need to contact us so that we can make arrangements to bill you at your e-mail address. Please make checks out to: Therese Hein, PO Box 484, Kettle Falls, WA 99141 A $100 nonrefundable deposit is required on the purchase of all dogs in order for us to reserve a puppy.
